DARE TO PAIR | Chocolate Eclair & SF Bay Extra Dark Italian Roast

It's National Chocolate Eclair Day, and we admit those pastries are amazing, but have you ever thought to yourself, "I wish my chocolate eclair tasted a bit more like coffee."

BAM! -

Here is a recipe for coffee eclairs. The filling and the glaze are coffee flavored. WHAT!?! 🙂

FUN FACT:

The word comes from French éclair 'flash of lightning', so named because it is eaten quickly (in a flash).

And apparently in the ‘Chambers English Dictionary’ (1988); it defines an éclair as:  “a cake, long in shape but short in duration.”

LET'S PAIR IT UP

For a rich chocolate eclair the best pairing will be with an extra dark Italian roast. Let the complexity of the coffee bring out the undertones in the chocolate.
