Coffee Cherry Picking Process

The Critical Coffee Cherry Picking Process

Coffee Cherry Picking Process

Coffee Cherry Picking is a very critical stage of the Coffee harvest process. Shade Grown Coffee Cherries do not all ripen at the same time and therefore must be selectively picked at several intervals when they are red and ripe.

Workers will rotate the area of trees they are harvesting every 8-10 days choosing only the most ripe cherries. This careful and labor intensive process ensures that Rogers Family Coffee is made only from the cherries with higher aromatic oils and lower acid content.

These cherries produce the beans with the smoothest and most fragrant aromas and the best overall flavor profiles.
