Background - We began purchasing coffee from this farm cooperative in 2003. The co-op is located in Huehuetenango, a 13 ½ hour drive from Guatemala City and only produces a small amount of coffee. However, the crop the farm does produce is excellent and its management is devoted to improving social conditions. Together, these facts make it worth the drive.

2003- RFC’s original plan was to build a new clinic for the cooperative. After further assessment it was noted that the need for a new school was greater. Thus, construction of a new, three room school began. Total spent: $30,000

2004- The new school opened and was furnished with desks and chairs contributed by RCF. Medical supplies were also provided for the new clinic that opened alongside the school.
Total spent: $4,000
