Community Aid of the Concordia community of coffee farmers in Colombia. These pictures are from the La Josefina cooperative.
We began visiting Colombia again in 2006 after a long hiatus during which it was simply too dangerous to travel there. After many starts and stops, we finally started in 2008 with a farming COOP in Concordia.
In this this community, the average farm size is 4 Hectares producing about 600 pounds of green coffee or 480 pounds of roasted coffee per year.
We are giving direct farmer assistance to improve kitchens, bathrooms and housing on these small farms.
In 2010, we spent $29,417 on a new school.
