Why An Entrepreneur Never Starts The Day Without This One Thing

Okay, you have likely already guessed it, but coffee is the answer. "So clever coffee company. You are telling people that coffee makes you a better entrepreneur", says someone reading this post. Yup and it's not just us, science has a little to add to the conversation.

Caffeine interacts with a key hormone – called cortisol – which helps to regulate the body’s own internal clock. According to a study by Steven Miller, a neuroscientist at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md.,  The Telegraph

What is this cortisol you speak of?

A hormone the body produces that's been correlated with alertness.

Want to get stuff done? Gotta be alert. Creating a new app? Gotta be alert. Strategizing your next product iteration? You guessed it, gotta be alert.

Fine, fine, no duh, you say. Coffee can make you more alert. Everyone knows this.

Okay, how about this then? You shouldn't have that first cup of coffee until 10:30 am. That's right. If you are the early to rise kind of trepper, let your natural cortisol levels do the heavy lifting early in the a.m. and save that first cup of alertness-giving liquid until brunch time.

According to the doc;

“One of the key principles of pharmacology is use a drug when it is needed," Miller told the Telegraph.

Use it when you need it not when you don't. It's Pharmacology 101 people.

So for all you budding entrepreneurs, stock up on your favorite java. BUT don't have your first sip until 10am-ish to maximize the value of the caffeine and your desires to conquer the world.

Happy National Entrepreneur Day.

That is all.
